Energy Waves and Sacred Geometry

One of the key insights that has come to me in my polarity therapy work, with relevance for sensgendered meditations as well, was that what appear as static material forms to the eye are backed by standing energetic waves in various whole configurations, more complex than the rectilinear shapes and designs projected by our human minds (I suspect in part because sharp angles, linear rays, and vertices cannot contain the inherent amount of energy without breaking the flow that these more complex, energy-organic forms can). Energy is always moving through these waves, yet the wave itself assumes a relatively constant presentation. One could go so far as to say that the human being (or any other living creature, for that matter) is a material manifestation of a particular configuration of standing energy waves. We see suggestions of the fundamental forms that energy prefers to express in through nature, biology, and physics, particularly of the energetic realm. Thus, we see pinwheel spirals in galaxies, toroidal shapes in magnetic fields, sinusoidal waves as representations of electrical alternating currents, double helixes in our DNA, the golden spiral reflected in nautilus shells and in the display of leaflet clusters on foliage, vortices in whirlwinds, draining water, and tornados, and so forth.

The second key insight that occurred to me was that though the patterns are mostly presented as two-dimensionally in written texts due to the limitations of print and routinely taught as presenting in a relatively static fashion, all standing wave patterns are in fact three-dimensional and always in motion. This adding of the third dimension and the element of motion in effect brings initial visualization of the patterns to life for either healing or meditative endeavors.

Dr. Stone, polarity therapy's founder, comprehended all of this early on. He discerned the geometries permeating the human body and accurately surmised that energetic expressions were behind them. The famous symbol of the caduceus is a classic example of a symbolic representation of an active or latent standing energy pattern in place around the human spine. Bruce Burger's excellent 1998 book Esoteric Anatomy: The Body as Consciousness brought the third dimension to life, as he re-envisioned and presented numerous energetic forms and patterns in masterful fashion. He also re-presented the Babbitt's atom, a thought seed springing from the ether to a designer/painter in the early twentieth century as perhaps the most fundamental energy form, or atom, associated with the human body and human health. One can discern the caduceus nested in the visualization of the atom.
